St. Louis Photographer Kay Murray DSC0033 Photographers shooting photographers

This is a photo that Nancy Helmer shot of me... yes, my eyes really are THAT big!

I got together with Kelly and Nancy at the studio, and we ended up shooting eachother. As I explained to someone later, it seems impossible for any sized group of female photographers to just “hang out” at a studio with their cameras, and not end up doing makeup and shooting eachother.

All the dresses and furs and props are what I happened to have over at the studio. They worked perfectly. We tried different things with makeup, and I let Nancy guide me to experiment with dramatic lips.

Modeling in front of photographers and taking their pictures in the same set, was fantastic for creative ideas in posing and in shooting!

Near the end realized that we were photographing eachother in high heels. It was pretty silly.

Needless to say, we were all exhausted by the time we wrapped up. Modeling and photography is hard work (especially in high heels)!

More of Nancy’s pictures from this shoot can be seen on flickR of me here, and of Kelly here. It’s interesting to see their different edits and takes with the same lighting and setup. Below are a few of the pictures that I shot.
