I wanted to shoot these two vintage dresses together, before I returned them. They were both carefully preserved in boxes and tissue paper, with detailed notes from their donor telling about the who had worn these dresses, detailing the wonderful wedding that M____ had in 1936, after which she changed into this blue dress for the party and “going away” for her honeymoon. Both dresses are made of the same mesh material and slip on over slinky satin slips.
I should note that in October I shot this green dress on Anna, for the 1936 wedding recreation shoot; and I previously shot the 1936 “going away” dress on Arcana but with a more modern/grunge feel. I really wanted to shoot them both in the same picture, before packing them up and returning them to the basement of the little local historical society!
Below are the best pics of Emily and Chelcie in these mid 1930s dresses.
- This photo is "as shot" – I didn't alter the original coloring at all. The natural light outside was perfectly diffuse!
