1930s Style Photos- Outside

IMG_6423-Edit

It’s nice when models bring alot of their own props and clothes, and when those match my own. In this case, we only ended up using the cloche hat that Tiffany brought along and none of her outfits. I had the inspiration to have her wear this pencil skirt I’ve never worn, and tore the top off an ugly 1980s drop waist dress that a model got at a yard sale and gave to me. The top, tucked into the skirt, worked perfectly. I had her wear my back seamed stockings and a retro 6 strapped garter-belt. Dressing retro-style down to the lingerie, even when you can’t see it, makes a huge difference, if only because of the headspace that it puts the model in.

I wish my raccoon fur had a larger collar, as that was all the rage in the 1930s. We weren’t feeling the head- on minks (thought they would be too formal), though.

I’m especially pleased at how these reflection photos turned out. They’re hardly edited! Tiffany was patient to hold her poses long enough for me to adjust my camera settings and try several to make sure I’d get everything perfect.
